Asia Katz
“Woman to Woman- to Woman – to Woman….” This would be an apt description of the subject matter or Asia Katz. At Closer inspection, we can make out the complexities that lie beneath the accurate lines, the delicate layers of colour and the clear cut compositions. These are not portraits as such- a new and different reality is reflected in these images of women/ girls. This reality, as I perceive it, is the purest and most creative manifestation of the Galilean Spirit. The Galilee, where the artist chose to live, is a living link between distant history and contemporary life and between Jewish mysticism and Christian Divinity.
Asia Katz was born in Bulgaria, she graduate from “Ulius Fuchic”. Where she has studied photography. Following she has participate in numerous exhibitions throughout Bulgaria. In 1991 Asia Katz immigrated to Israel. Since 2003 she is a member of the “Israeli Professional Artists Association” and a member of the “Israeli Association of Artists and Sculptors”.
